Anyway, I'm reopening on Jan. 22nd.. which is in a DAY! Yikes! I've got alot of slings ready but not near what I was hoping for.. :) I'll be adding alot of matching clothes over the next few weeks as well as some gorgeous formal slings. :)

Well, I'm still closed to new orders at the moment, but I've been getting some new slings sewn up. :) I added a preview of one to the website. I'm also adding a boutique clothing line so check that out when you get a chance!

I plan on re-opening on the 15th (DD's 1st b-day is the 9th so I want to get past that without the stress of orders) :) I'll be adding 3 new slings to a new line as well as one more sling to the dream line (if it gets done in time) So, stay tuned for more details :)

I've came up with a new shoulder style and think I'm going to LOVE it! Right now I have some testers in the works so that they can try out the new style.

I've took off the custom sling option from my website.. From now I'll stock a few custom's at random... (I'll post in TBW with a bit of a warning. ) That way I can limit the number of custom's to a reasonable amount!

Well, after a busy month of two weddings (we were in both), flying out of state, a DH with a sprained ankle, 3 dresses to make for the kiddos for the wedding, and more everything is finally back to normal! Nursing covers

I posted a link to the nursing covers available below (I can make them in other fabric's if you don't see something you like) But, here are a few action shots.

On this picture please note that the design has changed! The neckstrap is now adjustable and made of the same fabric as the cover. There is also a accent fabric rail around the cover. However, the function is the same and I had this picture handy. :)

After much frustration I've decided that instead of uploading the pictures here since it's taken a few hours and keeps shutting down on me.. to post them on photobucket.
All my slings come in 3 sizes..
size 1- 72 inches
size 2- 76 inches
size 3- 83 inches..

Here is a link to the slings / fabric choices available for the Accent It line.

The Accent It line comes with two pockets, both hidden in the tail accent, rails that are a slightly diff. color than the sling body to help adjust them, a linen blend body, and decorative embroidery throughout.

Dream Sling line.... These slings are silk, decorative stitching throught and a pocket on the reverse side of the tail.

Random Thoughts line... these are slings that I have a limited number of.. all diff. sorts of fabric's.. really anything that catches my eye.

Baby's Hungry Line...

My line of nursing covers. These have an adjustable neck strap, a ridgid neck strap so that you have a good view of baby the entire time. I found this to be important those first few days so I could get her latched on. After that my baby liked to see mommy while she nursed so we kept using them. :) They also feature a toy loop for baby. It hangs down to baby's hand level and comes with a toy link (like fisher-price link-a-doo's) The link is removable for easy washing. My little one loves to PINCH while she is nursing so this has helped eliminate the problem by giving her something to hold onto.

Well, so far there are 4 of the lines sewn up for testers (right now 1 of each) I'm almost done with another and then hope to finish up 2 more before monday night. I'm offering 10 tester slots so there will be 2 sizes of some of the slings available.

First of all sorry for the wait to those of you who are waiting on the testers to be completed! I'm waiting on ONE more item and then I'll get those ready to go. I have got a decent stock of nursing covers ready to go, and slings for 2 of the signature lines ready to go.. (there will be 4 diff. signature slings)

So, slowly we are making progress! I've decided that the website, stock, etc.. won't be done in time for July opening. And, we will be gone for a week in July so I'd rather push the opening past that. So, we will be celebrating my birthday and anniversary by opening the week after (my birthday is August 4th, anniversary August 10th). So, the opening date is going to be August 7th. I'll be offering a combined sale for opening/my birthday so keep an eye out for the coupon code later!

All came in today! So, now I can finish up the nursing covers I've got sitting around tagless. :) Also got the first sling done for the signature line last night and this morning. This one's mine though!!! I loved it too much to sell. LOL I've got more material coming in to make duplicates though.

Okay, a few changes here

#1- the slings with the accents are no longer the signature line.. rather the
"accent it" line

#2- the signature line (that name will probably change) is a new, unique idea that will be unveiled at the opening of the biz. :) NO sooner.. I'm in love with this idea and actually thought of it last night at around 4 am so I guess I might should THANK my daughter for keeping me up till 4:30 last night.. :)

#3- the "accent it" line will no longer have contrasting side rails.. Rather the rails will match the sling and the decorative embroidery will be what contrasts.

So, that means we have these lines

1- signature line - a design to be unveiled at the opening.
2- "accent it" line- the slings with the accents and hidden pockets
3- Dream line- unique and luxiourous silk slings
4- random thoughts line- the place for the slings I've sewn up from fabric's I've picked up here and there.. only one or two of each design and diff. fabric's like stretch sateen and twill, etc..

I've had a few people ask me what fabrics the slings are made of so thought I'd post that here :)

The slings with the accents are all made with a linen or linen blend.

The print slings are either stretch sateen or stretch twill.

And then there are the duponi silk slings. :)

I don't make many pouches anymore but I loved how this one turned out. The dad picked out the fabric then I had fun with my embroidery machine and added a football to the pocket :)

Introducing the LOTR Dream sling

Well, after a very frustrating sewing night (which finally ended at 3am) The first sling from the Dream line is finished. Here's a sneak peak.. There is also a pocket on the reverse side of the tail w/ the logo embroidered on it. My camera is out of batteries and I was only able to get one picture out of it :)

The LOTR slings are silver duponi silk with full embroidery along the edges. The panel is black duponi silk with the Tree of Gondor embroidered on it in metallic silver. The panel itself measures 20 inches tall, and there is a pocket on the reverse side of the tail. The pocket can be made of silver duponi so it blends with the back of the tail, or you can choose black duponi silk so it contrasts. The logo is embroidered on the pocket.

The embroidery foot finally showed up in the mail today.. now I'm just waiting for my logo to be finished getting digitized and I'm ready to start the slings... Should have them going in 2 days. :)

I got the LOTR panel's in today.. they are GORGEOUS.. Can't wait to get one sewn up! I need to order some more sling rings before I can finish all of them though.

If my embroidery foot will ever show up I can get started on this pile of fabric I've got cut out ready to go.. I'm beginning to wonder if it will though.. Of course that could be because I'm stinkin' impatient :)

I still need to move more fabric in there... as much as will fit anyway.. the rest will have to live in the garage. I'm happy with it though... works so much better than my old set-up. Still waiting on one last piece to my new machine so I can start on the final version of the slings for the testers. (if you are interested in a tester slot email me @ Zanytoesboutique@msn.com)

So, I've been catching up on my 6 month olds summer wardrobe. She was in need of clothes... which for us is a shocking thing.. I usually buy WAY to many. I had a big stack of clothes to bring to goodwill and ended up keeping most of them for the fabric. A blue w/ big pink flowers momma dress made an adorable little girl dress. :)

My 3 year old who has the job of being silly at her table in the sewing room while I sew..

And, my almost 7 month old who works hard at chewing on everything in site in her "toy area" section of the sewing room..

The last two days I've been converting the baby room (which the baby has NEVER slept in... to a sewing room. It's been quite the chore. That room had become a storage room of sorts so clearing all that out and re-organizing it is taking awhile. My new machine comes in on wed. though so I want to have it set up and ready to go by then. I had ran out of room for all my sewing machines in the dining room though! So, after doing that all morning it's nice to sit down for a few minutes.

Well, I finally found the perfect black linen for the slings and got it ordered, picked out two more designs, the business cards, hangtags, and clothing labels have been designed and will be here within 7-10 days. Said okay to a color scheme for the website, and the logo is being digitized for embroidery.

Now I just have to pick out the sling from the fabric choices I received. :)

Birds of a feather

Well, the birds of a feather sling is completed, and I finalized the sling / shoulder design. Added decorative stitching to the top of the accent and moved the 2nd hidden pocket down some. The only thing that will change is the decorative stitching. I just bought a new embroidery machine so the stitching will coordinate with the slings. For instance the birds of a feather slings will have bird stitching. :) Also, the logo will be embroidered onto the slings.

Introducing the first sling from the signature line.. Dreamin' in Lime. I love the color combination!

And I'm really happy with the pocket/accent detail. The accent has two hidden pockets in it. One larger velcroed pocket and a smaller one inside which velcro's completely shut. (no gaps or anything) for smaller objects that you want secured.

I'm probably going to make the shoulder accent match the tail accent but I'm still deciding on that detail.

Anyone have any feedback on sling lengths? I'm probably going to offer 2 lengths. If longer or shorter is needed I'll always do custom sizes, usually the same price. But, for the stocked slings I'm thinking 73-74ish inches and 82-83ish inches

I've got a living room full of fabric! I got tons of my fabric in today. One of the linen's wasn't at all soft enough so it's going back. Not quite sure what happened there. It's supposed to be the same as all the others but it's much thicker and not at all yummy soft. At least it's free return shipping.

I love the blue grey linen. It's just gorgeous. Almost a light denim color and as much as I wear denim that's a GOOD thing. It's sure to match.

The website has now been started and before too long I need to get a photo shoot scheduled. Anyone live around the Waco, Texas area that's interested in modeling for a free sling?

ZanyToes Boutique is in the process of being open for business!

My first post here. :) I'm in the process of getting the website/ logo/ tags/ business cards/ instruction flyer/ EVERYTHING designed for the website. Scary, yet fun at the same time.

The plans ATM are to be open for business sometime in July. There will be several lines of products

the signature line.. Between 4-5 designs of slings limited to 15 slings per design. The above picture is a sneak peak at the birds of a feather sling. Blue grey linen w/ a black and blue grey accent.

the random thoughts line... One of a kind slings made from fabrics that just catch my eye

and the dream line... Celtic and LOTR inspired slings. picture gorgeous shimmery silver dupioni silk accented by a black silk panel with the tree of Gondor embroidered on it in silver...... I'm most excited about these but then I love the LOTR so that's to be expected. :)

and hopefully, a bag line. I'm getting with a friend about making some diaper bags to coordinate with the slings.
